You’re not connected to the internet

The first time you or your users run OneNote 2013 they may get a dialog box that says, “You’re not connected to the internet. Your notebook will be created on this computer and will not sync to the cloud or to your phone.”

Unfortunately there is no Group Policy setting in the Office 2013 Administrative Templates to suppress this message. However it can be suppressed by using a Group Policy Preference to push a registry setting. The key if HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\onenote. The value type isĀ REG_DWORD & the name is FirstBootStatus. Set the Value data to 0x1000101 or 16777473 in binary. Be sure to put a check by “Run in logged-on user’s security context” & type a description.
